You can transform emotional and physical pain into a meaningful, joyous, and fulfilling life.

I’m living proof that a better life is possible no matter what your challenges. Let me tell you just a little of my story.

For longer than I care to admit I was so tired of trying to be perfect–to do more, be more, get everything done, fit everything in—and often be someone I wasn’t in order to be accepted and approved of. Despite excelling in school and sports, earning my Masters Degree, and thriving in various professional careers where I was always showered with accolades, I still didn’t feel good enough.

Addiction, bankruptcy, cancer and divorce first opened my eyes to something… transform my emotional pain into something meaningful.

With my first husband I was surrounded by alcohol and drug addiction. Finding my way to Al Anon was my first step towards learning how to take care of myself.

Years later in sobriety, my husband was diagnosed with late stage cancer and I stepped into the role of caregiver. Of course I was the perfect caregiver yet didn’t understand that I needed to take care of myself as well. This is when I was lead to my first copy of “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay and so began my baby steps towards transformation and learning to love and accept myself.

Subsequently we went through an amicable divorce. Less than a year later I found myself forced into bankruptcy as a result of my ex-husband’s mis-handling of finances. I was devastated. I had lost everything and needed to start all over again.

A decade of weight gain and yoyo dieting.

At that time I lost my way on my journey of personal transformation and found myself gaining weight and then more weight. Through staunch discipline and disgust for myself I managed to lose the unwanted weight. I believed that if I was thin again everything would be all right. However that fairy tale never came true. Instead, I began years of yoyo dieting.

Cancer again.

Many years later I went through cancer with my current husband and it was clear to me that old belief systems were still embedded and I hadn’t let go of my need to give all I had within me. I found myself completely drained physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I had no more to give. I was working 70 hour weeks and the job that had been sucking the life out of me for years was something I would have to grin and bear since I was the primary breadwinner and carried both of us on my health insurance.

In 2009, I was diagnosed with a slow growing cancer of my own. I picked myself up again and left corporate one year later. Not only can you survive, but you can thrive, with cancer. Everything is one day at a time. I was becoming more in touch with inner stirrings and a need for a purposeful life and I just knew there was a Margit inside of me wanting desperately to break free. Leaving corporate was one of the healthiest and yet scariest decisions of my life. I knew I was growing. I left that world to pursue a career that is in alignment with my values and which nourishes my soul.

At the end of 2010, my new path began with my certifications as a Life Coach and Recovery Coach. Yet there was still another piece to the puzzle – health and wellness.

In 2011 I went on to graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a certified Health Coach. While being trained to coach others to get healthy and improve their lives, I learned how to truly nourish myself.

Learning the power of positive thinking is what truly transformed my life. During that same year I became certified and licensed as a “Heal Your Life” teacher and workshop facilitator. My eyes and my heart were opened to a wonder-filled world as I came to see that self approval and self acceptance are the keys to positive change. When I really love myself, everything in my life works.

By 2012 my coaching practice was up and running. While working with a nurse practitioner colleague of mine, I was introduced to nutraMetrix. These nutritional supplements brought my health to another level. I was invigorated, energized, and focused. I could feel them at work as soon as I put them in my body and I was also successful in losing pounds, body fat and inches, and keeping it all off.

What changed my life the most was realizing I could transform my emotional and physical pain into a meaningful life. Today my life has true purpose and I remain a loving caregiver for my family, my community and my clients. The difference is I now know that I need to be true to myself. I care for myself, first and foremost, and maintain a healthy support system so that I can be there for others.

Today, I can look back at the cocoon I felt trapped in and celebrate the transformation of my life. I believe in myself, I spread my wings, and I can fly… and you can too. I offer a variety of services including private coaching, workshops and group study classes, a weight management program, and nutritional consultations.

Today I have a life that is beyond my wildest dreams. I enjoy spending time with my husband Mark and our spoiled rotten rescue dog, Dylan. We three hike together, swim together, play a great game of Frisbee, and even ride bikes together. I enjoy kayaking, tennis, and being outside in nature. I’m a native of Long Island, NY and moved here to Southwest Florida in 2001. One of my favorite things to do is vacation with my friends (nothing less than 4 star accommodations) and vacation with my husband in rustic cabins, tree houses and tents in remote places like Eleuthera, Vieques, Costa Rica, San Juan Islands and the Canadian Rockies. Next – rafting down the Colorado River and hiking through the Grand Canyon.
